Bootlegacies Summertime Updates!

Hey everyone! It's been a bit... (from what I can see, a bit over a month now). I just wrapped up my biggest college term thus far and I am free for the rest of the summer. Woowoo!

With that being said, standby for some bootleg and collectible goodness! 

My fiancé and I are leaving on a flight for Japan soon, and I will share collectible goodness whilst there—we will be checking out Pokémon stores, Magic: The Gathering and retro games alike, and I am setting out to build a complete EDH Magic deck while we are there, with cards only sourced from Hareruya, TokyoMTG, etc.

I am preparing to begin applying to MFA and Master's programs too as the summer goes on, but fortunately I'll be having much more free time until September to work on The Boot-Legacies. 

I appreciate all the readership I have had thus far, and I am excited to continue my bootleg journey.

I began getting back into collecting Pokémon trading cards with a quest: to collect every Mew ever. I figured it would be an undertaking of sorts, all of the Mew cards I could find, all of the strange, the official, the unofficial, the custom ones, the non-tcg cards. All of the Mews. Pokémon Monday: The Ultimate Crossover - Magic: The Gathering Meets Pokémon

Magic: The Gathering Meets Pokémon The Boot-Legacies , in classic bootleg sense, focuses mostly on Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon bootlegs. Rightfully so, they are the pinnacle of bootleg goodness, and frankly absorb much more of the market space than bootleg Magic: The Gathering - this reflects a bigger message in terms of their audience appeal. Magic fans tend to lean more toward 1:1 clones of cards (sometimes referred to as proxies), because it is more played, rather than collected.  So, I wanted to approach  Pokémon Monday a bit more flavorfully this week to reflect my own interest in a Magic: The Gathering design space. When you think about fake Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (bootlegs, sometimes known as knockoffs), what comes to mind? Have you ever considered collecting fake cards?
